Home.

Hi, had hoped to give our 71 Westfalia its grand unveiling at this years event after its new makeover, but here are a few photos instead for your online show. We have owned the van for nearly 20yrs and decided to give it a full restoration 2 years ago. It was delivered to Irvs restoration in Cumbria who carried out all the bodywork, paintwork, chassis and suspension. We have done the interior work ourselves with the upholstery done by a very good friend.

The engine is a 1776 built by Gavin 15yrs ago but treated to a fresh set of dellortos. The van has been lowered, sits on Bilsteins with a cheap set of alloys, (pinched from my T25 pickup before I sold it!), which we plan to change in the near future. The interior was all done from scratch, new doorcards, lining, flooring, Vanwurks Koppelo unit in walnut and some Harris Tweed curtains and cushions. A nice wooden Wolfsburg steering wheel from Aircooled Accessories and an Empi shifter have also been fitted. Still a few things to complete but there always is in the world of VW ownership 😃.

Take care and will see you next year.
